The Dr. Hedgewar Ambulance Service is a lifesaving initiative established to provide rapid and reliable emergency medical support across Kanyakumari district. Since its inception in 2020, the service has been committed to saving lives 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring that no individual is denied urgent medical attention due to distance, timing, or financial constraints.
The ambulances are fully equipped with advanced medical facilities, including freezer boxes for transporting critical organs or medicines, first aid kits, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, and other essential emergency tools. This enables the service to handle a wide range of medical emergencies, from accidents and cardiac arrests to transporting patients in critical conditions to hospitals.
Presently our Ambulance services centered at Villukuri, Thingal Nagar, Pookkadai and Eatthamozhi. The service ensures that both urban and remote communities have access to timely medical intervention. Its operations are supported by trained paramedics and drivers, who respond promptly to emergency calls, providing professional care while maintaining the dignity and safety of patients during transit.
One of the most significant aspects of this service is its affordable cost structure, designed so that financial limitations never become a barrier to life-saving care.
